Dr. Ebenezer Ewusie: BA, PhD, MSc
Dr. Ebenezer Ewusie is an enthusiastic professional, responsible and a computer literate. Have proven leadership abilities in working as a team, handling multiple tasks, great adaptability to any enterprise’s environment. Holds a PhD Degree in Entomology from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, Master’s Degree in Entomology from Texas Tech University, USA, a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology/Botany and a Diploma in Laboratory Technology both from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Dr. Ewusie has over 20 years of teaching experience at the secondary and tertiary levels, with 7 years being at the post graduate level and have supervised/supervising a number of students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has have been involved in developing curricular for Laboratory Technology programmes for Radford and Baldwin University Colleges, all in Accra. Dr. Ewusie has over twenty-nine years’ experience in mass rearing of insects of Agricultural, Veterinary and Medical importance and their control using environmentally friendly technologies and biotechnology. His love for the environment, motivated him to develop rearing systems for utilizing black soldier fly (BSF), Hermetia illucens L. (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) larvae for the bioconversion of organic waste in Ghana. Positive and keen to succeed, pick up skills quickly and apply them successfully, through both the use of initiative and the ability to comprehend instructions. He is an effective communicator who inspires confidence in subordinates, superiors and contemporaries. He has about thirteen (13) publications in peer-reviewed journals, 17 technical reports and developed a handbook. Dr, Ewusie has attended a number of conferences, workshops and transferred three (3) technologies to farmers in Ghana, and collaborate effectively with both local and international partners. Dr. Ewusie retired as a Senior Research Scientist from the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission about a year ago and is currently a Senior Consultant at the Metropolitan Research Bureau, La Accra and an adjunct lecturer with the Schools of Technology and School of Public Service and Governance both at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration as well as supervising at least four (4) PhD students from the Livingstone International University of Tourism Excellence and Business Management, Lusaka, Zambia.
